2020 Malbec Argentino
HoldRunning lowJames Suckling 98/100
The “Argentino” is Bodega Catena Zapata's flagship single-vineyard-blend Malbec (Mendoza), drawn from old-vine Angélica (Lunlunta, planted c.1930) and high-altitude Nicasia (Paraje Altamira, Uco Valley). The 2020 is full-bodied yet elegant and almost weightless, with perfumed plum, blueberry, violet, dried rose, chocolate and cigar-box, over seamless, finely-knit tannins and a long finish. 100% Malbec, built to age for decades.
