2025 Château Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
This stands out as one of the most concentrated and structurally impressive wines of the vintage. The nose is immediately seductive, opening with notes of peony, violets and a subtle touch of spice. The palate is deeply expressive, brimming with brooding dark fruits, with cassis clearly at the forefront. Despite its power and seriousness, there is an abundance of freshness, supported by a firm backbone of vibrant acidity that lifts the wine on the finish. A profound and beautifully judged wine that will thrill collectors and evolve magnificently over time.

Damson, cassis, bilberry; a wine that doesn't feel so far away from the very top vintages of the estate, clear expansion in the mid palate, with an uncompromising architecture and the supple tannins of a warm year, with pomegranate, incense, blackberry, cedar, slate and crushed rocks.

Dried floral scents, some cocoa powder, mint, red berries and sweet rose petals. Clean and crystalline, a lovely purity and soft chalky touch to the tannins which fill the mouth but don't overwhelm. Quite a restrained style for Lynch, delicate almost, with a gentle lick of liquorice and slate.
