2016 Tokaji Betsek, 6 Puttonyos, The Royal Tokaji Wine Company

Tokaji is a source of such pride in Hungary, that it is mentioned in the national anthem. Often called the “Wine of Kings, King of Wines”, it was a wine of choice for many European Royal families, perhaps most notably the court of King Louis XIV of France. It was also the subject of the first appellation control, established more than 120 years before the classification of Bordeaux. Unlike the appellation itself, Royal Tokaji is a relatively youthful venture.
