2019 Chateau Leoville Barton, St Julien, Bordeaux

HoldWell stockedJames Lawther MW 18/20

Saint-Julien (St Julien) is the smallest of the Médoc’s “Big Four” communes, yet it is widely regarded as the most consistent. Despite having no First Growths, St Julien produces outstanding wines year after year, with many châteaux delivering exceptional quality. The appellation’s compact vineyard area of just over 700 hectares and its uniform gravel soils give St Julien wine a remarkably cohesive style.
