Ch. Laroque is a fascinating property dating back to the 12th century. It was once the site of a medieval castle (a small remnant of the original 12th century tower still remains) but is now dominated by a beautiful Médoc-style château, built in the 17th century. At 61 hectares it is the largest estate in St. Emilion, all contained within one block and complete with manicured gardens. 85% of the property is on the limestone plateau and 15% on east and west facing slopes, giving a good variance in soil type and adding complexity.
